Enero

Remember those caldendars from Spanish class? Enero, Febrero (?), Marzo...I remember coloring in snowmen with crayons.

Much to write about...

SCCM conference (hey Lian- I got a pair of scissors- the ones that cut through clothes!!! Free from SCCM vendors)

Classes (I'm teaching one, yikes!!!)

Research

AWESOME surgery class! I mean, yowsahs! It's really really neat- we get to work on actual cadavers.

Class where I might get to see in vitro fertilization! For REAL! In a clinical lab!

Much to write about and absolutely no time to write it.

Will do so later! Maybe...

P.S. As it turns out, I will be going to Brussels in late March! YAAY! My poster also got accepted in the NCUR conference in Asheville, North Carolina, which will be in early April. Things are going well- if crazily fast.

Happy New Year to you too

2006...it used to seem so far away...

I suppose I'd better update about the so-called "flu." It was not the flu!!! No siree. After dragging my butt to and from Vaden (thank goodness it's across the street from Okada) Student Health Center multiple times and a barrage of tests, the doc gave me antibiotics. It was a kidney infection! How could my kidneys turn against me so? How, kidneys? How?

Anywho, the antibotics kicked in relatively quickly and besides making water taste really acrid, all went well. My family went to the Bahamas for 4 days (it's only about 40 min flight from Miami) and somehow ended up coming back with a timeshare.

The holidays went by relatively smoothly. Lots of shopping and lots of lounging about being lazy and watching faaaar too much E! tv. And tv in general. We went to the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL on New Year's Eve (for dinner) and I swear, never in my life have I seen so much cleavage. Ek.

I'm back on campus now- flew back on the 1st and have been doing lab stuff all week. One of my WT mice died on Tuesday, poor fella.

This weekend is the SCCM conference (Society for Critical Care Medicine) and the poster is ready, the presentation is prepped and I'm totally freaking out about being asked questions to which I will have no clue how to answer. At least it's just a poster presentation- Craig's doing an oral presentation which I'm sure he'll totally rock...but which also scares the bejesus outta me. Reading up on papers today. Thankfully, the MRI madness is ended for a few weeks. Maybe the mice will start dying :) of heart failure. Hm. Bad karma to think that though, no?

Looking forward to the Okada ski trip in two weeks!

P.S. I hate all those random typos in my posts- I notice them when I glance over past entries and they annoy me to death. Hopefully they aren't too irritating.
